ST.JOHN’S, ANTIGUA - The third week of the 2011 Training Programme for Development Finance Institutions (DFIs) and Indigenous Financial Institutions (FIs), being executed by the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) in collaboration with the Antigua and Barbuda Development Bank (ABDB), concludes this week with the Risk Management workshop. The four (4) week Training Programme continues next week, for the final week, at the Jolly Beach Resort with a three day programme on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for FIs.

Juno Samuel is now chairman of ABEC
Submitted by admin on January 11, 2011 - 9:01amAway from the eyes of the public and the media, and without even a prior announcement, a new chairman was sworn in for the Antigua and Barbuda Electoral Commission (ABEC), just days before Sir Gerald Watt was to return to head the body. Sir Gerald, who has headed the commission for five years, is now expected to be an ordinary member when he goes back, while Juno Samuel who joined the commission near five months ago, will be the new chairman. Samuel took the oath of office at Government House in a ceremony that the media had not even been invited to.

Howard University's School of Business in Washington DC recently recognized St. Lucia-born Cecil St. Jules as one of its 40 most distinguished and accomplished graduates at the School's 40th Anniversary celebration.
"I am humbled to receive such a lofty recognition by my alma mater," said St. Jules, a managing director of BNY Mellon Broker Dealer Services.
Antigua & Barbuda to host 2011 tradewinds

Minister of National Security Dr. Errol Cort said the exercise, scheduled for March, will not only provide a very useful training platform for the country’s security forces, but also provide great economic benefits.
