Antigua and Barbuda’s UK Tourist office has teamed up with Musto, the world’s number one sailing clothing brand, to highlight Antigua and Barbuda’s world class sailing product, and attract sailing enthusiasts to the destination.
In a national campaign, that will run for 6 months consumers will have the chance to win a sailing holiday to Antigua, with accommodation provided by the tourist office’s hotel partner Nonsuch Bay Resort.
The Antigua holiday competition will be promoted in 17 Musto standalone stores nationwide, until 28 February 2012.
“Our office continues to be strategic in its approach to marketing Antigua and Barbuda in the UK,” said UK Director of Tourism, Hilary Modeste.
“We have already identified Sailing as one of our best-producing niche markets. We host a number of sailing events throughout the year, such as the Antigua Sailing Week, that draw a large number of visitors to our shores. We want to capitalize on this and bring even more arrivals to the island during this season. Our office has proactively sought out this marketing opportunity, as one that will allow us to increase awareness of the destination amongst this group and affirm Antigua and Barbuda’s position as a premier sailing destination.”
Musto’s demographic is comprised of affluent clientele with an interest in foreign travel and activity holidays. Brand Ambassadors include member of the British Royal family Zara Phillips and England rugby star James Haskell.
Antigua and Barbuda will also be showcased to Musto’s approximately 88,000 website users, readers of its Lifestyle and Marine Lifestyle catalogues whose circulations are estimated at 70,000 each and via direct email marketing.
Through the competition, the destination will gain exposure at a number of upcoming events, including the Southampton Boat Show, the Mets Show and the London Boat Show.
