St. John’s, Antigua, September 8, 2010 – Mount St. John’s Medical Centre (MSJMC) and Mindful Movements have teamed together to provide employees and friends of MSJMC with a “6 Week Fitness Challenge”. The primary goal of the program is to get employees and the community moving and feeling great. The Challenge will begin on October 1st, 2010 and run for six weeks.

The six-week-long event will involve; guided exercise classes four (4) days per week, health lectures/talks, supermarket guide and more.

"We loved the idea of helping our employees and the community learn to lead healthier lifestyles. The hospital over the years has been looking at only one thing: taking the sick and treating them and sending them home," said Salma Crump, Marketing & Communications Manager at MSJMC. "The charter of the hospital is not for the illness of the community but for the wellness of the community. We're not here just for when you get sick. We're here to keep you well in the first place."

This event is open to the public. Registration begins now. The event runs from October 1 – November 11, 2010. To register call (268) 484-2700 ext. 2251 (Carol Scholar) or ext. 2711(Salma Crump).
