St. John’s, Antigua, June 10, 2010 –. The Executive Leadership Team at Mount St. John’s Medical Centre has officially announced MSJMC STAR, an Employee Recognition Program which recognizes both clinical and non-clinical staff, volunteers and physicians for going above and beyond their typical job duties and making a significant difference in one of the following areas:
· Teamwork
· Communication
· Caring and Compassion
· Safe and Clean Environment
· Privacy and Confidentiality
“The objectives of this program are to incorporate the Star philosophy in the MSJMC culture and promote behaviors that exemplify some of our core values at MSJMC which are Respect, Integrity, Teamwork and Excellence”, said Salma Crump, Marketing & Communications Manager at MSJMC. “We want to make sure everything we do makes it clear that at our hospital, it’s all about the patients—their care, their comfort, their well being.”
Award recipients can be nominated by coworkers, patients or visitors. They will be recognized and honored monthly with a Shining Star Pin for them to wear proudly throughout the organization. All are encouraged to take a moment to fill out one of the nomination forms the next time they’re at the hospital or they can download it off of the MSJMC Facebook Page. Your comments will be shared with the shining STAR you nominate and he or she will be recognized for their exemplary performance.
Continued Crump: “The satisfaction that comes from knowing you’ve done your job well is rewarding in itself but still, we all need to be recognized by others too. The overall goal is to create a happier, more satisfying work environment – Satisfied employees drive patient satisfaction and that’s what it’s all about.”
