The birdlife of Montserrat, as well as its wide array of other fauna and flora, will be showcased at this year’s British Birdwatching Fair. The Fair is the world’s first and largest international birdwatching event, which saw 23,000 visitors in 2009, and will be held at the Egleton Nature Reserve in Rutland from August 20-22, 2010. Montserrat will be represented by well-known nature tour guide James “Scriber” Daley, whose presence is being sponsored by the Montserrat Tourist Board (MTB). Geoff Saltmarsh and Joanna Walding of the MTBs UK public relations company, The Saltmarsh Partnership, will be assisting "Scriber" at the Fair. The Montserrat Centre Hills Field Guide will be on sale, and its author Steve Holliday will also be on hand to support the Montserrat team. Information on birding on Montserrat, other nature adventure tours, and general tourism information will be given out. A competition to win a copy of Sir Trevor McDonald’s ‘Secret Caribbean’ DVD, which includes coverage of Montserrat, will also be held. The Montserrat stand at the Fair (Marquee 6, Stand 10) will be a combined one, with neighbouring island Dominica sharing the space. UK birding tour operator Mot Mot Travel will also have a presence on the stand and will be offering a special 10-night combined birdwatching package to Montserrat, Dominica and Antigua, that includes all airfares, accommodation, guided birding and nature tours, ground transfers and all taxes for just £1995. This special offer can be booked at the Fair, by calling +44 1327 830 918 or visiting www.motmottravel.com For more information on the British Birdwatching Fair and attending go to www.birdfair.org.uk/
